Song of the Day: Blind Willie McTell - Searching the Desert for the Blues May 11, 2008
Posted by ~V~ in : Images, Sounds, Song of the Day , add a commentYou may search the ocean,
you might go ‘cross the deep blue sea…But Mama, you’ll never find
another hot shot like me.
i followed my baby from the station to the train,
and the blues came down like dark night showers of rain.

i left her at the station,
wringin’ her hands and cryin’…
i told her she had a home,

i once had no fears,
none at all.
And then when
i had some…
To my surprise,
i grew to like both:
scared; or brave
without them.
.
.
The thrill of fear —
thought i’d never admit it…
The thrill of fear —
now greatly enjoyed with courage.

When i once was
fearless,
innocence roared.

Untouchable,
innocence.
It is still here —

but in different places.

Reports that say that something hasn’t happened
are always interesting to me, because as we know,
there are “known knowns”:
there are things we know we know.We also know there are “known unknowns”: that is to say,
we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also “unknown unknowns” —
the ones we don’t know we don’t know.

Song of the Day: The Shins - Young Pilgrim April 27, 2008
Posted by ~V~ in : Images, Sounds, Song of the Day , add a commentA cold and wet November dawn,
and there are no barking sparrows —
just emptiness to dwell upon.
i fell into a winter slide,
and ended up the kinda kid
who goes down chutes too narrow…
But i learned fast
how to keep my head up,
’cause i know there is this side of me that
wants to grab the yoke from the pilot and just
fly the whole mess into the sea…

Odeo player UPDATE ***UPDATED*** April 7, 2008
Posted by ~V~ in : Uncategorized, Sounds, Song of the Day, Web Resources , 1 comment so far*UPDATE*: Odeo’s all good now. Check the comments for the latest info…

Don’t worry, people - the Odeo player isn’t gone forever.
It’s appearing and disappearing intermittently, and when it does appear,
sometimes the songs load and sometimes they don’t, but this kinda shizz
happens whenever they’re upgrading the system or whatever, idk…
i’m sure it will be back up 100% again soon, so in the meantime, please
enjoy the many other fine posts here @ opw that don’t utilize the player.
Maybe you could even leave a comment (hint).
i’ll delete this post when Odeo starts behaving again.
