Picture of the Day: from the Voyager Tarot - XV Devil’s Play October 31, 2007

The Greek Dionysian players in Devil’s Play symbolize
the law of celebration: a Dionysian exaltation of life
and its hard work, bedevilments, and erotic pleasures.
Laugh your fears and sorrows away. Dance and drink
to your successes, for life is a Saturnian harvest.
Lift your spirits by passion and play.
Re-create yourself through recreation.Through drink, music, and mind-altering drugs,
you become uninhibited and irreverent.
In your iconoclasm, you see in a new way and
break through Saturnian discipline and social convention.
You free yourself and become
natural, spontaneous, and original.Of course, you risk stepping off the edge
under the influence of intoxicated madness.
Stone blind, you perform misdeeds.
Out of ignorance, you are the devil.

From bud break to bloom, fruit set to veraison, ripe into harvest; I watched and studied the Bishop Creek Vineyard for the last two growing seasons. I fought with the weather to achieve the photos I wanted, much as the grapes fought with the weather for the conditions they needed.
The 2006 summer was a long, hot summer that allowed them to take their time and get as sweet as they wanted.
The 2007 summer was moodier and created awhole different style of beautiful characteristics. Yet, at all times, the grapes were growing, changing, and becoming something
of their own.

I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything,
or process anything as a career.
I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed,
or buy anything sold or processed,
or process anything sold, bought, or processed,
or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that…

There has been a “Last Thursday” on Alberta Street
since 1997. Art on Alberta sponsors the event,
which is held every month year round. The galleries,
studios, restaurants, and other art venues on the street
open their doors for a celebratory evening of art…

Posted by ~V~ in : Images, Sounds, Song of the Day , add a commentAnd what about your soul? Is it cold?
Is it straight from the mold and ready to be sold?
Gone, going, gone —
everything.
Gone, give a damn…
Gone be the birds
if they don’t wanna sing.
Gone people,
all awkward with their things…
Gone.

Song of the Day: Elliott Smith - Can’t Make a Sound October 21, 2007
Posted by ~V~ in : Images, Sounds, Song of the Day , add a commenti have become a silent movie.
the Hero killed the Clown —
Can’t make a sound, can’t make a sound.
Can’t make a sound…
The slow motion moves me;
the monologue means nothing to me.
Spinning the world like a toy top,
till there’s a ghost in every town —
Can’t make a sound…
Why should you want any other,
when you’re a world within a world?

Time-Space, known traditionally in the tarot as
Judgment or Aeon, is symbolized by Xipe Totec,
Aztec god of spring who, wearing the skin of a
sacrificed human, represents the new life which
attends the death-judgment of old karmic patterns. As symbolized by the three Buddha judges,
this is a time for rendering justice to yourself
through objective and acute self-evaluation.The law of karma, the law of laws symbolized by
Time-Space, means that with your telescopic vision,
you are able to see the causes and effects
of your mental and behavioral patterns. You have the ability to see how your past
determined your present and what your present
will create for you in the future.
Through your vision, you are able to alter the future
and redirect your karma. You understand who you are
and where you are going.You take great flights of mind. You are a futurist and seer;
your visions and ideas are seeds that bubble forth
to alter minds and perceptions.
