Posted by ~V~ in : Video, Sounds, YouTube Video of the Day , 1 comment so farDon’t it always seem to go
that you don’t know what you’ve got
till it’s gone…
Give me spots on my apples,
but leave me the birds and the bees.

YouTube Video of the Day: Amy Winehouse - Back To Black April 6, 2007
Posted by ~V~ in : Video, Sounds, YouTube Video of the Day , 1 comment so farAnd i tread a troubled track.
My odds are stacked —
i go back to black.
And life is like a pipe.
And i’m a tiny penny rollin’ up the walls inside.
We only said goodbye with words…

Quote(s) of the Day: from Martin Luther King, Jr. April 5, 2007

I’m delighted to see each of you here tonight in spite of a storm warning. You reveal that you are determined to go on anyhow. Something is happening in Memphis, something is happening in our world.
Men, for years now, have been talking about war and peace. But now, no longer can they just talk about it. It is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence in this world; it’s nonviolence or nonexistence.
. The hope of a secure and livable
. world lies with disciplined
. nonconformists who are dedicated
. to justice, peace and brotherhood.
.
. Peace is not merely a distant goal
. that we seek, but a means by which
. we arrive at that goal.
.
One has not only a legal, but
a moral responsibility to obey
just laws. Conversely, one has
a moral responsibility to disobey
unjust laws.
. Power properly understood
. is nothing but the ability
. to achieve purpose.
.
. It is the strength required
. to bring about social, political
. and economic change.
What is needed is a realization
that power without love is
reckless and abusive, and
love without power is
sentimental and anemic.Power at its best is love
implementing the demands of
justice, and justice at its best
is power correcting everything
that stands against love.
Let us develop a kind of dangerous unselfishness.
~ Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
(January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968)

One man to overthrow…
Early morning, April 4.
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky.
Free at last; they took your life,
but they could not take your pride.

. New technologies equal
. new perceptions.
.
. We create tools and then mould
. ourselves through our use of them.
.
In 1975, when the inventor
Ray Kurzweil created the CCD
(or “Charge Coupled Device”)
flatbed scanner, no one imagined
that this device, with a pixel-sensor
that moved slowly back and forth
across the page, would bring into
question our established notions
about seeing, vision, and perspective.
. For the past several years
. I have experimented with a
. non-photographic technique for
. creating images by utilizing input
. through the flatbed CCD scanner.
. No camera or lenses are used…
. This technique allows for unusual
. opportunities to explore new ideas
. involving light, time, and rhythm. It is a radically new digital aesthetic involving both new hardware (the scanner and the inkjet printer), and software (Adobe Photoshop), that allows for a new naturalism fusing nature and technology.
Without the distortion of the lens,
highly detailed resolution is uniform
throughout the image, regardless of
the size of the printable media…
Images created by scanning
direct-to-CCD cut away layers,
and go to a deeper place in us than
our ordinary seeing and vision.

Sometimes i get up feeling good

The music that we make

The music that we hear
